Architectural & Project Approvals
📐
What requires approval
All external projects require the Board's written approval before you begin. Association-wide, this includes things such as new construction and additions, other buildings such as garages and sheds, fences, swimming pools, solar energy systems, boat docks, dredging, and any landscaping or construction in the Shore Area. If your project changes the exterior of your property and you do not see it listed, ask us before you start.
⏱️
Timing and penalties
Plans must be submitted at least 30 days before your intended start date (30–60 days for Shore Area and shoreline projects). Work may not begin until written approval has been received. Proceeding without approval carries a $1,000 fine and may require reversal of completed work at the member's expense.
🏘️
Your subdivision may have its own rules
Many other exterior projects are governed by your subdivision's covenants rather than the CLA, and requirements vary from one subdivision to the next. If you're unsure whether your project needs approval — or whose approval you need — contact us before you begin. A quick inquiry can prevent a costly problem later.
