Our Location

Countryside Lake Association (CLA) is a private homeowners association located in unincorporated Fremont Township, just outside the boundaries of the Village of Mundelein, Illinois.  

Our Neighborhood

Living in CLA, members get the country feeling while being located close to the city.  All lots are at least 1 acre.  CLA consists of 4 separate sub-associations; Countryside Homeowners Association, Countryside Oaks Association, Camden Trace and a portion of Steeple Chase.  Some homes are only in the CLA Association.  All sub-associations besides Camden Trace have separate dues and management.  There are 349 memberships with approximately 1200 residents within CLA.

CLA boasts the following amenities for it's members:


  • Private lake with fishing, boating, beach and picnic areas 
  • Tennis court
  • Pier and boat rack rentals
  • Private security patrol
  • Car and boat stickers 
  • 1 guest pass per membership
  • Conservation area with walking paths
  • Monthly social events

  • Sellers need to request closing documents 3 weeks prior to closing
  • Seller needs to request any association documents
  • If construction is necessary, please allow time after purchase to submit architectural review information.

Outdoor Activities

CLA has 2 golf courses backing up to it.  Countryside Golf Course and Steeple Chase Golf Course.  Both are easily accessible from bike paths from the neighborhood.  The Millennium Trail bike path also has an access from CLA off of Hawley.  There is a variety of shopping and restaurants a short distance away.     

Local Municipalities

Countryside Lake Association is located within Fremont Township and Lake County.   It is considered unincorporated Mundelein.      

Safety & Security

Countryside Fire Station 1 is located just down the road from the Association.  The Association and Fire Department have had a wonderful working relations for years.  They are familiar presence in our community either for social events or performing training.


Lake County Sheriff has jurisdiction in our area.  If you have an emergency, please call 911 but for all non-emergency inquiries please contact the Sheriff at 847-377-4000.
